MANILA, Philippines — Kianna Dy and Savi Davison delivered 20 points each as PLDT survived Bella Belen’s career game for Capital1, 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 25-17, for its second straight win in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at FilOil Centre in San Juan City.
Dy led the way for the High Speed Hitters with 16 kills out of 31 spike attempts and nailed four blocks to go with 11 digs, while Davison had 17 kills and three blocks on top of 11 receptions.
Majoy Baron had 11 points and anchored the net defense of PLDT with five of the team’s 15 blocks. Mika Reyes and Alleiah Malaluan had nine and eight points, respectively.
The High Speed Hitters improved to a 2-0 record, following a big win over Creamline last week.
“It was about giving others the opportunity to rotate in. I probably should’ve done it earlier, maybe in the third set, but I saw the chance to make the adjustment. The momentum was shifting to them in that third set,” said PLDT coach Rald Ricafort.
“At least we were able to recover and respond the right way. I’m happy with it, especially since some of the players really stepped up and had high scores today.”
Despite PLDT’s stingy defense, Belen still scored a new career-high of 28 points–a point shy of tying her UAAP’s best single-game scoring output.
After dominating the first two sets, the High Speed Hitters lost steam in the third with Belen saving the day for the Solar Spikers with the crucial hits.
But PLDT was quick to regroup and dominated the fourth with Dy and Reyes nailing the finishing touches.
Belen had 26 kills, one ace, and a block on top of 12 receptions as Capital1 dropped to a 1-2 record with a two-game skid.
Shaya Adorador supported the top overall pick with 13 points, 11 receptions, and 10 digs.
