“Whenever I’m given a chance, I make sure not to waste it because I want to help the team reach our goal and, at the same time, prove to myself that I deserve to be in this position,” said Bituin after helping his squad rise to 4-0 in the standings.
Dryx Saavedra and Lirick Mendoza had 12 points each, while Doula Ndongala had 11 after nailing seven of the team’s 16 blocks.
“The tournament is still a long way from being over, but we won’t stop working hard to achieve what we want,” said FEU coach Eddieson Orcullo.

The Blue Eagles blew a two-set lead and a 5-0 start in the fifth with Rui Ventura, Issa Ousseini, and NJ Bangit tying the game at 10 for the Green Spikers.
Amil Pacinio, Kennedy Batas, and Rodge Alejos delivered the killer blows including the errors of La Salle to escape in a two-hour and 28-minute game.
Pacinio led Ateneo with 18 points and 13 excellent digs. Jian Salarzon contributed 17 points and 21 excellent receptions. Reigning league MVP Batas added 16 points on 12 attacks, two blocks, and two aces, while Alejos, who was clutch in the fifth, delivered 12 points off seven blocks and five spikes.
“Of course, I commend my team for their effort, their hard work, their patience, and especially their discipline in the last set. That’s what won the game for us. That fifth set really tested us. We’ve already played two five-set matches this week,” said Ateneo head coach Vince Mangulabnan as they improved to a 2-2 record
The Blue Eagles looked set to close the match in four sets after establishing a 14-10 lead, but the Green Spikers, powered by Eugene Gloria and Rui Ventura, surged back with a 15-6 run to force a decider.
La Salle remained winless in four games, with Ventura leading the way with 18 points. Eugene Gloria and Chris Hernandez contributed 15 and 14, respectively.
