Jordan Heading leaves lasting mark on former Taiwan coach

Jordan Heading now one of the stars of the TNT Tropang 5G in the PBA.
MACAU— Jordan Heading is now an offensive centerpiece for TNT Tropang Giga in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
But there was a time when his shooting was on full display in Taiwan.
Taoyuan Pauian Pilots coach Iurgi Caminos reminisced on his first year coaching in the country’s T1 League when he called the shots for the Taichung Wagor Suns.
Iurgi Caminos, now head coach of the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots, looked back on his first coaching stint in the country’s T1 League, when he handled the Taichung Wagor Suns and had Heading as one of his key weapons.
“I had a chance to coach Jordan Heading in my first coaching year in Taiwan and I love him,” Caminos told the Inquirer on Friday night at Studio City Event Center after the Pilots’ semifinal win over Alvark Tokyo in the East Asia Super League.
“He’s crazy good, a great shooter and just a great guy.”
In his lone season under Caminos, Heading averaged 19.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game, helping Taichung finish runner-up.
The two would later go their separate ways.
Heading had stints in Japan’s B.League and Australia’s NBL1 before eventually taking his talents to the PBA, while Caminos went on to steer Taoyuan to multiple titles.
