MANILA, Philippines — Jaja Santiago, who now carries the name of Sachi Minowa as a Japanese, won’t be renewing with SV.League team Denso AiryBees after her contract expires at the end of May.
Denso announced that Santiago and other players will be parting ways with the team after the 2025-26 season.
In her first and only stint with the AiryBees, the 6-foot-5 middle blocker had 432 points built on 334 attacks, 83 blocks, and 15 aces.
Denso is currently No.8 with a 23-20 record in contention for the postseason.
The former Philippine women’s volleyball team star said she was grateful for her stint with the AiryBees. She transferred to the club following her championship success with the Osaka Marvelous.
“Thank you all for an unforgettable year with the Denso Airybees. This season has been a rollercoaster of emotions—moments that were joyful, and everything in between. Through it all, I’ve learned invaluable lessons and collected memories I will carry with me into my next chapter,” said Santiago in a statement.
“I am endlessly grateful to every fan who cheered us on during home games, and to those who supported us in away games, too. Your support fueled us, even on tough days, and your belief made every effort worthwhile.”
Santiago was the second Filipino import of Denso after Alas Pilipinas setter Jia De Guzman played in Japan for two seasons.
Alyssa Solomon will also become a free agent after her rookie run with the Osaka Marvelous.
