MANILA, Philippines—Barangay Ginebra missed Japeth Aguilar’s services against Titan Ultra in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday.

Unfortunately for the Gin Kings, they will have to make do without Aguilar at least for the next couple of games due to a lung problem.

“I really can’t tell you, I can’t even pronounce the words they were using,” coach Tim Cone said when asked about Aguilar.

“He basically has some air in his lungs and they had to take it out. There’s a medical term for it, but I can’t tell you what it is.”

According to Cone, Aguilar is currently in the hospital getting some treatment.

The veteran tactician added they won’t rush Aguilar’s return. He is expected to miss the next two games.

“I believe he’s still in the hospital. We expect him to come out tomorrow or Tuesday. We don’t really know a timeframe in terms of when he’ll be back to the lineup and ready to play, I think the first step is wait for him to leave the hospital.”

“He’s doubtful for this coming weekend. I’d rule him out altogether, but he’s doubtful for this weekend’s action.”

Fortunately for the Gin Kings, they were able to ease past Titan Ultra even without their veteran big man, 119-107.
