MANILA, Philippines — Lams Lamina emerged as the top overall pick of Galeries Tower in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Rookie Draft on Wednesday night at Novotel.
As expected, the HighRisers picked Lamina to solidify their offense and run the plays for last year’s No.2 pick Jean Asis, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Gayle Pascual, Roselle Baliton, and Erika Deloria.
The incoming rookie will work with Julia Coronel, who was a third overall pick of Galeries in 2024.

Lamina brings her experience as a two-time UAAP Best Setter, a three-time champion out of five finals appearances, and an Alas Pilipinas prospect.
Galeries, which landed the top pick in the Draft Lottery last year despite the 30% chance, reached the second phase of the Play-in last All-Filipino Conference before losing to Nxled.
The 2026 Draft Class was hit by two big withdrawals of Alyssa Solomon and Niña Ytang, who opted out to focus on playing for Alas.
University of Santo Tomas libero and captain Detdet Pepito was drafted by Capital1 as the second overall pick.
Pepito, a two-time Best Libero, is reunited with her childhood best friend and former college rival Bella Belen, who was the top pick of the Solar Spikers in last year’s draft and emerged as Rookie of the Year.
Pepito will provide stability on Capital1’s floor defense with Roma Mae Doromal and Rachel Jorvina for the team that recently landed on the MVP pair of Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos from Cignal.

Jonna Perdido landed at sixth overall with the Farm Fresh Foxies, reuniting with her college coach KungFu Reyes, who is the assistant of Japanese Koji Tsuzurabara.
Another NCAA standout was drafted in the first round, with Perpetual Help setter Fifi Ariola joining PLDT.
Adamson spiker Barbie Jamili was selected by Creamline to cap the first round.
Only 11 players were drafted out of 38. Capital1 selected Khy Cepada in the second round, followed by Ann Asis drafted by Galeries. Farm Fresh was the last team to pick, with Ella Raagas from La Salle.
