Blackwater Sports drowns Boracay Rum, 84-60, for first win PBA D-League
MANILA, Philippines – Bouncing back, Blackwater Sports made quick work of Boracay Rum, 84-60, Tuesday for its first win in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Blackwater cashed in on a big second quarter, where the Elite held the Waves to just 10 points.
Article continues after this advertisement“They wanted to prove something after losing to Big Chill. Against Big Chill, they only played in the third and fourth quarter,” said Blackwater head coach Leo Isaac. “Ngayon, first quarter pa lang lumaban na sila kaagad.”
Kevin Ferrer started hot and finished with a game-high 17 points on top of eight rebounds.
Blackwater picked up where it left off as it stretched its lead to as big as 31 points, 61-30, in the third period.

The Waves, who got outscored, 11-36, in the third quarter, continued their slump, as they reeled to their fourth straight setback in as many games.
Paolo Taha paced Boracay Rum with 16 points.
