TAIPEI—Filipino Jay Bayron was crowned the Asian Development Tour’s Order of Merit winner after the rain-shortened season-ending $120,000 Yeangder ADT championship topped by local veteran Lu Chien-soon here Friday.

Bayron topped the Merit list with US$34,309 in earnings, thanks largely to two victories. He landed the first of three 2013 Asian Tour cards ahead of runner-up Hsu Mong-nan of Chinese Taipei and third-placer Peter Richardson of Britain.

Lu emerged as the oldest winner on the ADT at age 52 without hitting a single shot as the final round was called off due to unplayable.

Only the top three of the development tour were rewarded with Asian Tour cards for 2013.

“I felt a lot of pressure coming into this tournament because many guys had a chance to chase me on the OOM,” said Bayron. Asian Tour News
