La Salle stuns Ateneo to seize lead in UAAP men’s football
MANILA, Philippines — La Salle wrested the lead from erstwhile-leader Ateneo with a 2-0 blanking on Sunday in the UAAP season 75 men’s football tournament.
The Green Booters dealt the Blue Eagles their first loss of the season, then got a taste of the first seed in the standings with eight wins and three losses.
Gio Diamante put one in the back of the net in the 59th minute before Don Rabaya scored the dagger in the 73rd minute.

La Salle, with the win, tied with Ateneo at 24 points — though the Green Spikers hold the edge in goal difference.
Far Eastern University — which has 22 points on seven wins, two losses and a draw — likewise, gets a crack at the top spot when it faces final-four bound University of the Philippines also on Sunday.
