DHL Amateur golf blasts off March 12-15

THE WWWEXPRESS-DHL Amateur Open, regarded as one of the most prestigious events in the land and which now forms part of the PLDT Group National Amateur Golf Tour, gets going March 12 to 15 at tree-lined Canlubang North.

Entries are being accepted at the offices of the organizing National Golf Association of the Philippines and at Canlubang Golf and Country Club with the deadline set March 6.

The men’s side of the event is set for 72 holes, while the women’s side will be played over 54 holes. Fee is  P2,500 for men and P2,000 for women.

This will be the 18th playing of the DHL Am, an event which several pro stars of today like Juvic Pagunsan, Jun Bernis and Jonel Ababa have won in their respective careers.

Philippine team members, Rupert Zaragosa, Jik Jik Abdon LJ Go, Andres Saldana, Basti Lorenzo and Justin Quiban and a slew of Korean expats are expected to lead the men’s field.
