Tunacao loses title fight to Japanese champion via TKO

MANILA, Philippines—Former flyweight champion Malcolm Tunacao failed to capture the WBC bantamweight title after losing to unbeaten Japanese champion Shinsuke Yamanaka Monday in Tokyo, Japan.

Tunacao (32-3-3, 20 KOs) couldn’t survive the tough Yamanaka (18-0, 13 KOs) as he got dropped and was stopped at 1:57 of the 12th round, according to a report in the boxing website www.fightnews.com.
