Adamson, NU eye 2nd wins

ADAMSON and National U seek their second victories when they clash today in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Gametime is at 4 p.m. with the Lady Falcons and Lady Bulldogs looking to gain a share of the early lead with the Ateneo Lady Eagles.

Newcomer La Salle Dasmariñas also shoots for a second win against a University Santo Tomas team looking to bounce back from the opening-day loss to Ateneo.

Flaunting the strength of its lineup, Adamson rolled past University of San Carlos, 25-13, 25-22, 25-21, last Tuesday.

But the Lady Falcons will face a far more difficult task against the Lady Bulldogs, who walloped Arellano in four sets last Sunday.

While the Lady Falcons have one of the league’s best blockers and hitters in Pau Soriano, the Lady Bulldogs have tall attackers who can cause trouble to the Adamson defense.

Dindin Santiago, a member of the national pool, spearheads the National U attack, along with Myla Pablo. Santiago had 22 points against Arellano, while Pablo tallied 19.

The Lady Patriots are seeking a follow up to their 25-14, 25-21, 25-21 win over Letran last Tuesday. UST will have to cope with the threat posed by Jennifer Manzano, who fired 14 kills in that victory.  Cedelf P. Tupas
