FEU’s Romeo applies for PBA draft, forgoes final year in UAAP
MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University’s star guard Terrence Romeo made himself available for the 2013 PBA Rookie Draft Friday, forgoing his last playing year in the UAAP.
The reigning UAAP Most Valuable Player, who still has a year left in his eligibility, submitted his application at the PBA Office in Libis, just two hours before the 5 p.m. deadline.
Article continues after this advertisementFEU head coach Nash Racela told INQUIRER.net that Romeo talked to the Tamaraws’ coaching staff and management Thursday night to ask permission.
Romeo joined Tamaraws’ guard RR Garcia in the list of draftees, which also included others players who just finished their stints in the UAAP like Jeric Teng, Ryan Buenafe, Sam Marata, and JP Erram.
Earlier this week, Garcia decided to cut short his commitment with the Smart Gilas cadet team to join the PBA draft.
