MANILA, Philippines— Talk N’ Text’s power forward Ali Peek faced the media for the first time Thursday after being shot by an unidentified gunman in the nape Monday evening.

Peek  is already in stable condition after the shooting at the parking lot of the RFM gym in Pasig City but the bullet remained embedded at the base of his skull.

“I have some decisions to make and I’ll make them and go from there,” said Peek, 36, in a television interview.

“But I think the most important thing right now is the safety of my family, myself,” he added.

With his head heavily bandaged, Peek said his family would seek a second opinion whether to remove the bullet or not.

Asked for the possible motive of his assailant, the 6-foot-4 banger said he couldn’t think of any.

“It’s one of the questions I keep asking myself. I’m very confused. I didn’t see the guy, I didn’t see his face,” said Peek, whose mother rushed to the Medical City in Pasig on Wednesday straight from the United States.

“I’m happy to be alive,” added Peek.

TNT teamowner Manny V. Pangilinan has put up a P500,000 bounty to bring the perpetrator into custody.
