Tiu still Northern Series’ quickest

Jonathan Tiu closed the season as the quickest driver yet again by topping the Quick 8 class, even as EG Yulo stole the thunder from the favorites in the M&H Pro races in the final leg of the 2017 National Drag Racing Championships Northern Series at Clark International Speedway.

Tiu of JCT Racing clocked 9.14 seconds and bested Danes Sarmiento (10.461 seconds) in the final face-off to bag the Quick 8 overall title with 45 points.
Tiu also claimed the M&H Super Pro crown with 30 points over Vanni Garcia (16) and Alvin Abrigo (15) and Kenneth Bayani (15).

The upstart Yulo upstaged top favorite Ryan Quimpo in the M&H Pro season but fell short of the overall title as Quimpo already clinched the crown ahead of the leg with 26 points. Yulo and Aaron Lao finished joint second with 16 each. —STEVE SILVA, MOTORSPORTS CONTRIBUTOR
