San Sebastian escapes Lyceum behind Pascual’s 32 points
MANILA, Philippines—Ronald Pascual caught fire from deep to help San Sebastian dodge an upset-minded Lyceum, 87-79, Monday in the NCAA Season 88 men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Pascual unleashed 32 points, including nine straight points that gave the momentum and the lead back to the Stags, 78-73, en route to their fourth win in five games. He had eight triples in total.
Calvin Abueva came through with a triple-double of 16 points, 23 rebounds and 10 assists while Ian Sangalang had 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Pirates trailed early and found themselves down by five to start the fourth but they kept coming back and even took a 73-69 lead with 5:59 left before Pascual put on a shooting clinic.
Chris Cayabyab and Shane Ko led Lyceum, which dropped to 2-5, with 20 points each.
