Shakey’s V-League: Lady Stags test Lady Eagles

ANOTHER tough test awaits defending champion Ateneo today as the Lady Eagles clash against San Sebastian’s Lady Stags in an early duel of contenders in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Eagles passed their first test Sunday when they put away University of Santo Tomas in straight-sets.

But the Lady Stags will offer them a different test with returning Thai import Jeng Bualee expected to fuel SSC’s attack.

Arellano and University of San Carlos meet at 2 p.m. in a duel of teams which dropped their first assignments.

The Lady Chiefs failed to cope against a strong National U attack, losing in four sets, despite the presence of former Most Valuable Players Nene Bautista and Mary Jean Balse in their lineup.

Cebu-based USC will be raring to bounce back after bowing to Adamson in its V-League debut.

The Lady Eagles, whose campaign is led by Alyssa Valdez and veteran Rachel Anne Daquis, will also have to deal with the power-hitting Suzanne Roces.
