‘Santi’ resets ABL schedule

Philippine Daily Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines--The Asean Basketball League postponed the match pitting the Philippine Patriots and the Brunei Barracudas Saturday due to typhoon “Santi.”

League officials said a new schedule will be announced soon. The Patriots currently share second place with Indonesia Satria Muda BritAma at 2-1.

Led by new recruits Nonoy Baclao and Elmer Espiritu, the Patriots kicked off their three home game assignments with a 74-61 drubbing of the Thailand Tigers last Sunday.

Meantime, the Singapore Slingers will shoot for their fourth straight triumph against Indonesia at the Singapore Indoor Stadium Sunday.

The Slingers—bannered by Filipino import Al Vergara and former Philippine team reinforcement Michael LeBlanc—are also slated to clash with the Patriots on Nov. 7 at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan. Admission is free. Jasmine W. Payo
