MANILA, Philippines -- David Diaz began landing with his right as he gained confidence in taking Manny Pacquiao's punches and engaging the Filipino in phone-booth slugging.

Pacquiao moved out of trouble several times and uncorked a late charge, but Diaz opened up the second half of the bout in a much better way than he did in Round 1.
