IT?S TIME TO BRING OUT THE Manny Pacquiao saga to the world.
Elated by his prized ward?s victory in the recent national elections, promoter Bob Arum is keen on doing a global telecast of Pacquiao?s oath-taking as representative of Sarangani?s lone congressional district on June 30 in Manila.
Pacquiao confirmed Arum?s intention in a television interview Saturday.
The 78-year-old Arum, who was in Sarangani at the height of the campaign period up to election day and counting of votes, first expressed his plan to Fightnews.com.
According to reports, Arum wants to introduce Pacquiao as Rep. Manny Pacquiao to emphasize that he?s the lone active boxer to have been elected to the lower house.
As a treat to boxing?s lone seven-time, seven-division champion, Arum will shoulder all expenses when Pacquiao and his family take a vacation in an undisclosed place in Mexico, where they will be brought in by private jet.
Pacquiao will be leaving on Monday with wife Jingkee and children Jimuel, Michael, Princess and Queen Elizabeth for Los Angeles.
The Pacquiaos will proceed to New York City where Manny will be honored by the Boxing Writers Association of America as its Fighter of the Year as well as Fighter of the Decade during its awards night on June 4.
In the same interview Pacquiao reiterated that Arum will handle all the negotiations for a projected megabuck showdown against unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather Jr. in November.
