Adamson bests CSB on Jericho Cruz’s 25-point burst
MANILA, Philippines — Jericho Cruz scored 25 points to lead Adamson over College of St. Benilde, 80-63, Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at the Arena in San Juan.
The Falcons, who improved to 3-2, saved their best for last as they closed the game on a 22-10 run.
Cruz went eight-of-eight at the free throw line and added six rebounds and four assists.
Adamson also drew a solid performance from Cameroonian center Ingrid Sewa.
Sewa, a six-foot-10 banger, notched a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Mark Romero continued to pour the points with 21 on nine-of-15 shooting from the field for the Blazers but had little help from his teammates. Romero though, missed all of his four attempts from long range.
CSB, which only had one player in double-digit scoring, slipped to 2-4.
