NU makes V-League Finals after beating Adamson

MANILA, Philippines — National University regrouped after an opening set collapse to beat Adamson, 24-26, 25-20, 25-15, 25-22, for its first trip in the finals of the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City Sunday.

The Lady Bulldogs got an early wakeup call after the Lady Falcons came back from a 16-21 deficit in the first set to grab an early 1-0 set edge.

NU, which set up a best-of-three Finals clash with Ateneo, responded in the second set and took control from that point on behind skipper Dindin Santiago, who tallied 24 points on five blocks to go along with six digs.

Myla Pablo backed Santiago up with 20 points and five blocks for the Lady Bulldogs, who managed to nail the last Finals berth despite trailing their semifinals series 0-1.

Adamson relied on Pau Soriano, who delivered with 19 points with five blocks. Angela Benting, who unleashed 28 points in Game 1, had just 10 in the decider.

Game 1 of the Finals will begin on Thursday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
