MANILA, Philippines – Over a hundred people are already waiting in line just to catch a glimpse of NBA superstar LeBron James when “The King” reigns over basketball-crazed Manila at the Mall of Asia Arena on July 23.
A Nike Park representative at the company’s flagship store at Bonifacio High Street in Taguig, where tickets to the event will be given away for free Wednesday at 12 nn, told INQUIRER.net that some have camped out outside the store as early as Monday night.
“Kagabi 6 p.m. may mga tao na [waiting in line]. Mga eight persons,” said assistant store supervisor Raymond Capistrano Tuesday afternoon. “Umuwi ako kagabi mga 1:30 a.m., mga 30 na yung tao.”
Only two tickets will be given per person in a first-come, first-served basis.
The two-time NBA champion James, inarguably the best basketball player today, validated his greatness after leading the Miami Heat over the San Antonio Spurs in a heart-stopping seven-game series for their second consecutive championship last June.
Nike Philippines announced James’ one-day Philippine tour last Friday.
