NBA SUPERSTAR Kobe Bryant arrives in Manila today in the wake of a historic weekend in Philippine basketball.
Bryant returns for the Lenovo Mobile one-day promotional tour with the country still celebrating Gilas Pilipinas’ clinching a Fiba World Cup berth for the first time in three decades.
The sixth visit here of the Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard also comes just three weeks after Nike brought to Manila for the first time reigning MVP LeBron James of the NBA champion Miami Heat.
But unlike previous visits where he showcased his flashy form, Bryant will only promote Lenovo’s mobile devices.
The 34-year-old Bryant, still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury sustained last April, will kick off his tour with a quick stop at the Lenovo sales exhibit at Mall of Asia.
Bryant will later have a media session at Maxims Hotel in Resorts World Manila.
After Bryant, former NBA MVP Rose of the Chicago Bulls will also be in Manila on Sept. 14 to 16 for an Adidas tour. On Oct. 10, NBA will bring its first preseason game in Southeast Asia featuring the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers at Mall of Asia Arena.
