San Sebastian Stags complete NCAA final 4

MANILA, Philippines — San Sebastian completed the final four cast of the NCAA season 89 men’s basketball tournament on Thursday.

The perennial final-four bound Stags clinched the last spot after defeating also ran St. Benilde, 69-62, at the Arena in San Juan.

Leo De Vera led San Sebastian, which pulled away late after the Blazers kept within striking distance most of the match,  with 10 points and 15 boards.

The Stags tied with Perpetual Help with an 11-7 record at fourth place, joining Letran (14-4) and San Beda (14-3) in the semifinals.

A playoff scheduled on Tuesday, 4 p.m. at the same venue between the Stags and the Altas will determine the placings.
