Global eyes 3rd against Balestier
Global seeks to register the best finish by a Philippine side in the Singapore Cup when it tangles with S-League powerhouse Balestier Khalsa in their third place playoff at Jalan Besar Stadium today.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. with Global, powered by members of the national team and Spanish striker Rufo Sanchez, hoping to surpass the finish of the Loyola Meralco Sparks last year.
Global has dished out some fine performances in its maiden appearance in the tournament, prevailing over DPMM Brunei, 5-4, on aggregate in the quarterfinals.
