Jason Ballesteros and Jan Colina will try to impose their size again when Jumbo Plastic goes for a third straight win and a share of the lead in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup against Big Chill today at The Arena in San Juan.

The stocky pair dominated their opponents in the paint when  the Giants downed Cafe France, 74-70,  Monday  and they will be the key factors in the 4 p.m. game with the Superchargers.

Blackwater Sports also aims for another victory when the defending champions tangle with Wang’s Basketball in the other game at 2 p.m.

In their first game of the season, the Elite edged Boracay Rum, 87-85, behind  the heroics of PBA-bound Justin Chua.

“So far everything is working pretty well. But we have to sustain it. Our next game will be a test of character so we have to stay focused,” said Jumbo Plastic coach Stevenson Tiu Monday of his Giants, who hope to tie idle leader Cagayan Valley at 3-0.

The Superchargers go into the match after  a come-from-behind 92-91 win over  NU-Banco De Oro.

Janus Lozada drilled a three and Kazim Mirza intercepted an inbound pass for an easy layup, all in 11.6 seconds, as the Superchargers stole a 92-91 victory from the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Boracay Rum put its 85-87 defeat to Blackwater Sports under protest, claiming that game officials counted a crucial three-pointer by Chris Banchero in the fourth quarter as a twinner despite the referee’s decision to award a three.

Boracay Rum, which submitted the complaint Tuesday at the PBA Commissioner’s Office, insisted that the shot could have altered the result of the match after they moved within a point, 85-86, on Mark Belo’s free throws with 1.7 seconds left.
