‘Hate fuels Nonito foe’

WHAT makes Vic Darchinyan very dangerous is his hatred for Nonito Donaire Jr.

That’s how Donaire’s coach, two-time Trainee of the Year Robert Garcia, described one of the main factors in the fighters’ rematch on Saturday (Sunday morning in Manila) at American Bank Center in Texas.

He told website Hustleboss.com that Darchinyan has nothing to lose in their 10-round featherweight non-title fight.

The 37-year-old Australia-based Armenian Darchinyan (39-5-1 with 28 knockouts) is aching to get back at Donaire, who shot to stardom at his expense six years ago after knocking him out for the IBO and IBF flyweight crowns at Harbour Yard Arena, Bridgeport, Connecticut.

“He really hates Donaire. We got to be very well prepared and very careful for a dangerous fight,” Garcia told the website. “Darchinyan could be very dangerous because he has nothing to lose.

“I’m sure he trained like nothing before because he wants this rematch so bad. Now that he’s got it, he’s going to do anything possible to win the fight.” Marc Anthony Reyes
