UST, Letran play charity game for ‘Yolanda’ victims
MANILA, Philippines—Finalists University of Santo Tomas and Letran are set to play a charity game for the victims of Supertyphoon “Yolanda” on Wednesday at the Letran Gym in Intramuros, Manila.
The game starts at 2 p.m. with tickets priced at P300 each. Proceeds will be donated to those affected by the typhoon.
“This is the Dominican institutions’ way of reaching out and helping our countrymen who have suffered from the wrath of Supertyphoon Yolanda,” said Fr. Victor Calvo, O.P., Letran’s athletic moderator.
Article continues after this advertisementRain or Shine rookies Jeric Teng of the Growling Tigers and Raymond Almazan of the Knights will suit up perhaps for one last time donning their schools’ colors.
The benefit game is also part of Letran’s series of campaigns to raise relief funds for the typhoon’s victims. The series includes “No Aircon Days” (Nov. 18 and 21), “No Christmas Party for Admin,” “One-Day Salary Donation” for employees, among other financial efforts.
