MANILA, Philippines — Gretchel Soltones powered San Sebastian to a 25-19, 25-21, 25-15 triumph over Letran Thursday in the NCAA season 89 women’s volleyball competition at the Arena in San Juan.
Soltones sizzled with 20 points, including three service aces and a block for the Lady Stags, who outgunned the Lady Knights every step of the way.
Jolina Libiano added eight points and Czarina Berbano six for San Sebastian, which lost to Perpetual Help in the finals last season.
The Lady Stags joined early winners in the NCAA volleyball tournament, which opened last Tuesday.
No one from Letran’s side, meanwhile, got to summon even just half of Soltones’ output as skipper Monique Pablo topscored with seven.
