MANILA, Philippines – Big Chill drew 18 points each from Reil Cervantes and Mar Villahermosa as it beat Café France 94-87 and pad on its franchise-best start in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Monday at the JCSGO gym in Cubao.
The Superchargers built double-digit leads before holding off the Bakers to improve to a league-leading 6-0 mark.
“It’s always tough playing Café France but the players are determined to win every game,” said Big Chill coach Robert Sison.
Jeckster Apinan had 14 points while playmaker Brian Heruela stabilized Big Chill’s charge with 12 assists on top of six points and seven rebounds.
The Bakers, who gave away 25 points to the Superchargers off their 17 turnovers, dropped to 3-3.
Big Chill’s unbeaten slate will definitely be put to a test when it goes up against perennial powerhouse NLEX in its next outing.
Bakers guard Mac Montilla led all scorers with 23 points.
