M’lang hosts Palawan Pawnshop tennis tilt

Action in the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala regional age-group tournament shifts to North Cotabato tomorrow at M’lang Tennis Club.

Mayor Joselito Piñol guarantees a successful staging of the four-day event, this being the first national tournament to be hosted by M’lang in a long, long while.

“We really want to ensure the success of this event and we are very thankful for Philta, Palawan Pawnshop and Babolat for putting up a tournament here,” said Piñol.

The event is expected to draw entries from Davao City, Tagum City, Digos City, Kidapawan City, Alamada, Malita, Midsayap, Kabacan, Toril, Panabo and Tadeco.

“We really expect a big field to play in M’lang where tennis is quite popular and we hope that by holding a national tournament there, we will not only be helping boost local tennis but also give the young players a feel of competitive play,” said Palawan Pawnshop COO Bobby Castro.
