Petronas drag racing in Clark Speedway up
The country’s fastest drivers gear up for more intense showdowns when the 2014 Petronas Philippine Drag Racing Championship kicks off Saturday at Clark International Speedway.
Defending champion Jonathan Tiu of JCT-Blanche Racing leads some 120 drivers set to dispute the titles at stake.
Participants will dispute titles in the Quick 8, M&H Super Pro Class, M&H Pro, Yokohama Expert, Sportsman and the GT Radial Hotstreet classes.
Article continues after this advertisementThey battle each other in the four-leg Northern Series at Clark International Speedway and another four-leg Southern Series at Batangas Racing Circuit.
A crowd-drawer of this series are the American V8 muscle cars of Angeles City Hot Rod Association (AHRA)-Garage Power led by former US servicemen John Ryzia, Steve Caldwell, Christopher Sheaves and 2012 M&H Super Pro champion William Hand.
Their cars will go up against the modified six-cylinders in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and sponsored by Petronas, M&H Tires and media partner Racing Beat at Wave 89.1
