Treat Huey’s Davis Cup focus on doubles
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines will bring out its usual weapons but will try a different combination when it visits Sri Lanka in the first round of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group 2 competitions Jan. 31 to Feb.2.
Australian Open men’s double quarterfinalist Treat Huey will once again banner the team that has never lost to Sri Lanka in their past seven meetings.
But this time Huey won’t play singles and instead focus on his fledgling partnership with power-hitting Ruben Gonzales, according to Philippine Davis Cup administrator Randy Villanueva.

Villanueva said they will try to hone the Huey-Gonzales pair for future Davis Cup campaigns and the coming Asian Games in Incheon.
