Ateneo sweeps La Salle, repeats as UAAP baseball champion

MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo repeated as baseball champion after a convincing 8-3 win over De La Salle Tuesday in the 76th Season of the UAAP at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Blue Eagles completed a two-game sweep of the Green Archers in the two rivals’ first meeting in baseball finals.

“Their championship composure showed. They stayed focused,” said Ateneo coach Randy Dizer, whose team committed only two errors.
Andy Tan, Ateneo’s hero in Game 1, was named MVP and Best Pitcher while Miguel Dumlao bagged the Rookie of the Year honors.
