The distinction as king of the pit went to Gerardo Abogada of Iloilo, who ruled the 858–entry “NFGB Hari ng Rueda 8-Cock Derby” Thursday at Roligon Mega Cockpit.
Abogada (Energetic Farms, 8.0 points) received the championship trophy from National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (NFGB) president Ricoy Palmares Jr. and the NFGB board.
Celso Salazar of Batangas and Ed Ranchero/George Manzano of Ilocos Sur posted 7.5 points each to bag runner–up honors.
Those with seven points: Rizal Breeders president Joey Sy, Rep. Kulit Alcala of Quezon, Obet Armada, Joe and Bob Caparanga, Nelson Bartolome, Charl Caldo, Paul Panes, James Wolf, Vicente Edurese, Prins Palo–ay, Butch Yabut, Julius Mallari, Jess de Veyra and Vincent Rojo.
NFGB announced yesterday that ‘Hari ng Rueda’ ranks as one of its top attractions.
