Arellano rips SWU tossers; Adamson dumps rookie SLU
Arellano proved just too powerful for Southwestern University as the Lady Chiefs ran away with a 25-15, 25-17, 25-19 victory yesterday to claim a share of the early lead in Group A of the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 First Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena.
Danna Henson and Cristine Joy Rosario combined for 25 points to power the Lady Chiefs, who delivered a total of 49 spikes against the Cebu-based Lady Cobra’s 22.

The Lady Cobras wound up tied at 1-1 with Adamson, which also dumped newcomer St. Louis University in straight sets, 25-10, 25-10, 25-20, in the second game.
Mylene Paat, Jessica Galanza and Sheila Pineda teamed up for 28 points to easily dispose of Baguio’s Lady Navigators in just a little over an hour.

Dominant on virtually every front, Angelica Legacion also shone for the Lady Chiefs by posting 24 of her team’s 26 excellent sets as Eunice Galang and Menchie Tubiera tallied 16 digs.
“This win will surely boost our confidence,” said Javier.
After getting whipped by UAAP champion Ateneo in the opener, the Lady Falcons came out pouncing and held the Lady Navigators to a measly 10 points in the first two frames.
The Lady Falcons, just like the Lady Chiefs, overwhelmed their opponents on attacks, 45-13, with Galanza and Pineda doing most of the damage.
The Lady Cobras, who came off a grueling five-set triumph over the Lady Navigators, had no player finishing in double digits.
The Lady Navigators, meanwhile, absorbed their second straight setback. With a report from Xavier Villaluz
