MANILA, Philippines—The Filipino boxing icon is the unlikely nucleus of Hollywood’s superstar galaxy.
After musicians Bob Dylan and Ashanti, basketball superstar Kobe Bryant and fellow boxer Miguel Cotto visited eight-division World Champion Manny Pacquiao, it is time for Hollywood actor and A-list host Mario Lopez to drop by Pacquiao’s training.
Almost twelve days before Pacquiao’s attempt at vengeance against Timothy Bradley, the boxer who controversially got handed with the Pacman’s World Boxing Organization’s Welterweight Championship, Lopez’ orbit passed through the Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles Tuesday (Philippine time).
Lopez, who is not only an interviewer of entertainers but also a respectable boxing commentator, paid a visit to Pacquiao’s first day of training in Los Angeles, and bumped unexpectedly with the Pacman’s former foe, Cotto.
“Training with the Champ Manny Pacquiao and he’s ready to go! 12 days away,” Lopez said on his Twitter account while posing with Pacquiao.
Lopez also posted a “selfie” with Pacquiao and Cotto sharing pleasantries in the background. He described the two boxers as “class acts,” and referred to them as “warriors” and “gentlemen.”
