MANILA, Philippines — Air21 led wire-to-wire in a masterful 92-79 win over San Miguel Beer in the 2014 PLDT Home Tvolution PBA Commissioner’s Cup Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Hardworking forward Sean Anthony scored 21 of his team-high 25 points in the second half for the Express, who got off to a fast start and never looked back to force a do-or-die game for a semifinals slot on Friday,

“It’s a good thing we kept our composure. I know this is going to be a short-lived celebration because we’re playing them again on Sunday. I just hope that we will still continue to do what we’re capable of doing,” said Air21 coach Franz Pumaren.

Import Wesley Witherspoon added 18 points and 11 rebounds while the veteran Asi Taulava had 17 points and eight rebounds for Air21, which never trailed and led by as much as 16.

Kevin Jones erupted for 34 points to go along with 15 rebounds and three blocks for the Beermen, who had 19 turnovers that resulted to 23 turnover points for the Express.

“We expect San Miguel to be prepared. We expect they’re going to be coming in full throttle. San Miguel is a strong team and a proud institution and we know they’re going to come back strong.”
