Filoil: San Beda rips PH Youth U-18 squad
MANILA, Philippines — San Beda gave the Philippine Youth U-18 team a lesson through a 79-57 whipping in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan.
Red Lions’ center Ola Adeogun easily came away with 19 points and nine rebounds as he dominated the young Nationals on both ends of the floor.
“We really wanted to play well today due to the fact that we really want the RP team to learn something from us,” said San Beda head coach Boyet Fernandez.” We really played tough and played defense just to give them a different look, so that they’ll be ready for SEABA. Hopefully, we helped them a lot.”
Art dela Cruz added 18 points and 12 rebounds for San Beda, which improved to 2-0 after edging Letran in its previous game.
Ranbill Tongco, a Red Lion himself, paced the U-18 squad, which dropped to 0-2, with 15 points, while Thirdy Ravena shot 14.
Baser Amer collected 11 points and nine assists for the Lions, who went on a 10-0 run to start the fourth quarter for a 65-42 lead to put the game away.
