Muhammad Ali dares Mayweather: Fight Pacquiao

MANILA, Philippines –Considered as the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali shares the sentiment of any other boxing fan–that current pound-for-pound kings Floyd Mayweather Jr. And Manny Pacquiao should just face each other in the ring.

The boxing icon on Sunday took to Twitter to congratulate Mayweather on his majority decision victory against Marcos Maidana and convince the undefeated boxer to finally fight Pacquiao.

“Congratulations @FloydMayweather. Maybe after you rest up we can see you rumble with @MannyPacquiao,” Ali posted on his Twitter account @MuhammadAli.

The tweet as of posting time has received more than 17,000 retweets, and more than 8,000 people marked it “favorite.”

Fans of Pacquiao and Mayweather have long been hoping for the historic fight to happen, though their hopes have been repeatedly quashed as the two pugilists have continued to feud about the terms of the prospective megafight.

Pacquiao, the eight-time world champion, earlier said he is ready for the fight and is only waiting for Mayweather’s decision.
