FEU stalls Adamson’s V-League finals bid, extends series
MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University denied Adamson’s bid to clinch the last finals berth following a 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 win and extend their Shakey’s V-League semifinals series to a deciding game Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Game 3 is on Thursday also at the San Juan Arena with the winner facing defending champion National University, which returned to the finals after sweeping University of Santo Tomas earlier.
Guest players Rachel Ann Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga once again carried the scoring cudgels for the Lady Tamaraws, who bounced back from a heartbreaking, 25-19, 25-22, 24-26, 15-25, 12-15 loss where they let the game slip away despite leading, 24-22, in the third set.
Article continues after this advertisementDaquis and Gonzaga combined for 29 hits with the lefty Gonzaga tallying 16. Gonzaga also scattered three service aces and three blocks.
Shiela Pineda churned in 15 points while Thai reinforcement had 12, 10 coming off kills for the Lady Falcons.
