MANILA, Philippines –Asia’s best memory athletes will compete in the 1st AVESCO-Philippine International Open Memory Championship slated this weekend at Eurotel Hotel North Edsa in Quezon City.
Among the foreign participants are Grandmaster of Memory (GMM) Yudi Lesmana and Fakhri Shafly Erlangga of Indonesia, Omkar Kibe of India, Ryan Dongwoo Kim of Korea, and GMM Tsogbadrakh Saikhanbayar, Enkhmunkh Erdenebatkhaan and Enkhjin Tumur of Mongolia.
Roberto Racasa, coach of the Philippine contingent that placed fourth in the 2013 World Memory Championships in London, said Mongolia, third placers in the 2013 World Memory Championships, is one of the tournament favorites. The Filipinos will led by GMM Mark Anthony Castaneda, semifinalist in the Extreme Memory Tournament in San Diego, California.
