National Seniors, Mid-Am golf at Malarayat

MANILA, Philippines—The stories rivalry between Canlubang and Luisita goes individual starting Wednesday when the NGAP’s National Seniors Championship presented by the MVP Sports Foundation tees off at well-manicured Malarayat in Lipa City.

Francis Gaston of Luisita and Rolly Viray of Cangolf, who both hold the distinction of winning the National Men’s and Senior’s titles at one time in their careers, will try to win the 54-hole event for the second time.

The event coincides with the holding of the National Mid-Am championship, also a 54-hole event reserved for players who are 30-54 years old holding handicap indices of 7.0-12.0.

The tournaments have drawn more than 70 entries thus far, with registration to end on Monday, June 16, at the NGAP offices and at the Malarayat. Inquiries can be coursed through ngapgolf@rocketmail.com.

The event is also a part of the PLDT Group Amateur Tour and backed by Pancake House, Pacsports and Golf Depot.
