Shakey’s V-League: Ateneo, NU eye rebound

MANILA, Philippines—Overwhelmed in their last outing, National U and Ateneo try to get their campaign back on track Sunday as they clash with winless foes in the Shakey’s V-League Season II Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Bulldogs hope to end a two-game slide against Philippine National Police at 2 p.m., before the Lady Eagles collide with University of the Philippines.

Victories by NU and Ateneo could seal the quarterfinal cast, while putting UP and PNP on the brink of elimination.

Only the top six in the eight-team field will advance to the quarterfinals after the single round eliminations with the top four, after another one round affair, making it to the Final Four.

Ateneo absorbed a straight-set loss to PLDT Home Telpad side and came up short against the Air Force Raiders.
