UFCC stag season opens Sept. 8 in 3 venues
THE ELITE Ultimate Fighting Cock Championships takes stagfighting to a new level starting Monday when the 2014 UFCC Stagfest One-Day-Super-6-Stag derbies get going with the first of 16 separate events at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Pasay City Cockpit and Makati Coliseum.
Led by Atong Ang, Gerry Ramos and Sonny Lagon, the UFCC has more than 60 members, including Gov. Eddie Bong Plaza, Boy Lechon, Nestor Vendivil, RJ Mea, Nelson Uy, Col. Katigbak, Toto Sevilla, Ed Santos, Atty. Astorga, Carlos Tumpalan, Ricky Magtuto, Arman Santos, Allan Siaco, Rep. Peter Unabia, Rep. Patrick Antonio, Eric dela Rosa, Jun Mendoza, Joey delos Santos, Peping Cojuangco, Dong Chung, Pido Jarencio, Luding Boongaling, Tady Palma, Jojo de Leon, Eddie Boy Villanueva, Anthony Lim, Art Atayde, Mayor Cesar Dy, Bebot Roxas and Marvin Rillo.
The weight limit is set from 1.700 to 2.150 kg. Submission of weights and wing-band numbers for the Sept. 8 opener is on Sunday— Sept. 7 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. only. The derby is presented by Thunderbird, Resorts World Manila and Solaire Resort & Casino.
