Former International Boxing Organization world champions Rey Loreto and Edrin Dapudong are gearing up for another shot at the title when the “Clash of the Little Titans” takes place at the Almendras Gym in Davao City on Oct. 11.

Denver Cuello will also be featured in the same card after coming off a year-long break following a serious shoulder injury in a failed bid for a possible world title fight.

Loreto, an ex-IBO junior flyweight titleholder, faces Indonesia’s Heri Amol;  Cuello meets Jaipeth Saksongym of Thailand at 108 pounds and former IBO superflyweight champion Dapudong steps into the ring with Thai Winsalek Sithsaitong.

These fights will be the climax of the launch of Sonshine Sports TV, a sports program dedicated to the promotion of sports in the country.

For Loreto, the clash with Amol serves as a preparatory fight for a scheduled rematch with South African tormentor Nkosinathi Joyi on Dec. 12 in South Africa.

“This is all part of a program. Loreto will fight for a world championship come December,” said Sonshine Sports CEO Manny Piñol during yesterday’s Philippine Sportswriters Association forum at Shakey’s Malate.

A victory by Dapudong will also set him up for a return bout with Lwandile Sityatha, who beat him in East London, South Africa, on July 18.
