Fresnido bags 3rd PH Masters gold, sets new mark

KITAKAMI CITY, Japan—Danilo Fresnido closed the Philippine campaign in the 18th Asia Masters Athletics Championships on Tuesday with the country’s third gold medal and a new meet record. Fresnido heaved 60.48 meters—a meet record—in the javelin throw’s 40 years category. Erlinda Lavandia earlier bagged the javelin throw (60-64 years) gold while Emerson Obiena also won in the pole vault 45 years event. The team matched the target set by the 22-man squad, which also took 2 silver and 5 bronze medals.
