Ateneo, bannered by three members of the Philippine Under-17 team, is hoping to become the first UAAP team to win the Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC) Ironcon Builders Cup title.

The sharp-shooting Jolo Mendoza and twins Matt and Mike Nieto, part of the squad which saw action in the recent World Championship in Dubai, will lead Ateneo’s bid against, among others, six-time NCAA champion San Beda and Chiang Kai Shek College.

The Eaglets have yet to win a title since the departure of Kiefer Ravena four years ago, finishing runner-up to National University in the UAAP last year and to CKSC in the recent Jumbo Plastics Linoleum Cup.

The tournament dubbed as “Battle of Champions” starts on Nov. 8 at CKSC gym in Tondo, Manila.
