La Salle had everything clicking the entire game as the Green Archers demolished Centro Escolar University, 79-56, to capture the Luzon-Metro Manila regional crown in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Monday at First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities gym in Tanauan.
The victory kept the Archers on track in their title defense as they also clinched the last berth in the Elite Eight, where the top varsity teams will vie for the national crown starting this Thursday in Cebu.
A sizzling start anchored on Jeron Teng and Thomas Torres put the Archers up by 16 points, 40-24, at halftime.
And the Archers, who found their range from outside early, doubled their lead at 68-36 in the third quarter.
Teng, who sat out the fourth period, paced the Archers with 14 points while Torres finished with 13 on top of five assists.
Teams in the Elite Eight will be divided into two groups, with the top two teams after the single-round eliminations advancing to the best-of-three Finals.
Other Elite Eight contenders are new UAAP titlist National University, five-time NCAA king San Beda, NCAA second placer Arellano and Visayas-Mindanao leg topnotcher University of Visayas.
